2010 Koski Kup - September 18th at Withrow Park (Off Carlaw south of Danforth)

The Koski Kup is an annual co-ed charity street hockey tournament. The goal of the tournament is to bring people together in a fun and social environment, to raise money to improve the lives of those living with Lupus and honour the memory of our father George Koski.

Order of the day:9:00 am registration opens. All teams must be registered (and signed their waivers) before their first game. Division play occurs between 10:00 and 1.

$40 per player – minimum of 10 players per team or $400 registration minimum. Included: all players will receive a tshirt and lunch.

Game format & rules:

·         Co-ed teams – 6 players + 1 goalie on at once given rink size; 2 women playing at all times

·         20 minute games (5 minute half)

·         5 minute intervals between games

·         Standings determined by win / loss record followed by plus / minus

·         Absolutely no slap shots, checking or rough play. This is for charity!

·         The top 2 teams will play in the final at 2:00. Ties settled by shootouts.

Tournament format:

4 teams will compete in a round robin with the top 2 playing in the finals.
 
Awards Ceremony: 3:30. Stick around for our recognition of volunteer support, best spirited player and MVPs and awarding of the trophy.

Lunch : 12:30 – 2:00 – BBQ (hot dogs, hamburgers)  fruit & granola bars. Vegetarian hot dogs and hamburgers will be available. $10 for lunch for supporters, guests, etc.

Location: Withrow park (same as last year)

Just south of the Danforth (Bloor East) on the west side of Carlaw – you will see the hockey rink towards the south end of the park....parking on the street.

Parking:. Washrooms are located near the rink in the park.

Nearest subway stop: Pape station. From Pape you will walk west to Carlaw and then south.....can’t miss it.

Equipment:

We will have extra hockey sticks on hand, as well as goalie equipment. We will be playing rain or shine so please wear appropriate clothing. The surface of the hockey rink is concrete so try to wear shoes that have good grip!
