Raising money to improve the lives of those with Lupus!
We thought it would be a good idea to hold a fun sporting event with the goal of raising money to improve the lives of those living with Lupus, in honour of our father George Koski who had Lupus for the last 12 years of his life.
A ball hockey tournament seemed fitting as our father was a big proponent of athletics, and believed strongly that sport was an ideal way to bring people together. With that in mind, a perfect tournament in our mind will both raise money and create a tradition that brings people together each year.
Proceeds from the inaugural tournament were donated to Lupus Canada - a national voluntary organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with lupus through advocacy, education, public awareness, support and research. Proceeds from the 2008 Koski Kup will be donated to both Lupus Ontario (www.lupusontario.org) and Lupus Canada (www.lupuscanada.org). Lupus Ontario's mission is to provide Support, Education, Public Awareness and Research to the lupus communities of Ontario, and in doing so, contribute towards finding the causes and a cure for Lupus.
